Environment & Natural Resources Protection
Afghanistan's Environment and Natural Resources face significant challenges, Including Rising Urban Pollution, Deforestation, Land Degradation, and Water Scarcity, all exacerbated by decades of Armed Conflict, Political Instability, and Limited Institutional Capacity. Water Resources are vital for Agriculture, Livelihoods, and Economic Development; however, persistent issues of Water Scarcity and Mismanagement have plagued Afghan Governments.
Additionally, Afghanistan is Vulnerable to Climate Change Impacts, such as Increased Frequency and Intensity of Droughts, Floods, and Extreme Weather Events. These challenges contribute to Poverty, Health Issues, Food Insecurity, and Displacement, making them critical considerations in Economic and Social Development Strategies. BOBA is committed to Strengthening Institutional Capacity to establish and implement Effective Environmental Protection Programs and projects that promote Environmental Sustainability and Biodiversity.
